A Great Library Needs Great Friends!
The Friends of the Grand Forks Public Library is a group of dedicated community members that help to expand, enhance, and promote the public image of the library. The Friends raise funds that are used to supplement the library budget for programming, staff enrichment, and other activities that engage patrons, with the mission to "Increase community awareness, involvement, and support for library services, programs, facilities, and needs."
Friends also advocate for the library by:
- Writing letters of support
- Volunteering at events
- Promoting library services
- Voting to support building projects or funding measures for the library
Donate
Friends accept donations of "gently" used books, DVDs, music CDs, and audiobooks. Unfortunately, we cannot accept:
- Books that are damaged, mildewed, stained, or musty
- Reader’s Digest Condensed books
- Encyclopedias
- Textbooks
Shop
Not only do the Friends host two annual book sales and maintain a year-round book sale rack inside the public library, but we are also a charity with Amazon Smile. Log into smile.amazon.com and shop away (if "Friends of the Grand Forks Public Library" is not displayed, you can search the name). A portion of your purchase will be donated to the Friends.
