Friends of the Library
A Great Library Needs Great Friends!
The Friends of the Grand Forks Public Library is a group of dedicated community members that help to expand, enhance, and promote the public image of the library. The Friends raise funds that are used to supplement the library budget for programming, staff enrichment and other activities that engage people who value the library.
Friends also advocate for the library by:
- writing letters of support
- volunteering at events
- promoting library services
- voting to support building projects or funding measures for the library

The Friends of the Grand Forks Public Library is a volunteer advocacy group working to increase community awareness, involvement, and support for library services, programs, facilities and needs.
The Friends accept donations of "gently" used books, DVDs, music CDs, and audio books. Bring your donations to the Library Circulation Desk.
Unfortunately we cannot accept:
- Books that are damaged, mildewed, stained, or musty
- Reader's Digest Condensed books
The Friends are in need of a few able-bodied volunteers who can help set up the spring and fall book sales. This work involves lifting and stacking heavy boxes of books. Please email if you're interested in helping.
In addition to our two large annual sales, we have an ongoing and frequently updated selection of gently used books available for sale year round in the library near the periodicals.
Fill out the Membership Form and submit it online or bring a completed copy to the next meeting. Find out more about the group and watch for upcoming events on the Friends Facebook page.
