Be sure to check out our Mezzanine Gallery currently featuring artwork by Rohini Gawande. Rohini is a self-taught watercolor artist based in Grand Forks.

About the Artist

Rohini Gawande is from India and has lived with her husband, Jivan, in Grand Forks for the last few years. Rohini has two kids, Shree (8 years) and Rachael (5 years). She said her family and the entire Grand Forks community play a role in continuing her pursuit of art.

Rohini recognized her passion for watercolor during her school days. Her talent was highlighted after her artwork was displayed in the London Art gallery for two years. She continued working on watercolor as a hobby while pursuing a medical degree from India and working as a physician in India for three years before coming to Grand Forks, finishing her master’s degrees in Kinesiology and Public Administration from the University of North Dakota. Recently, she started teaching art classes and taking her artwork to craft shows and galleries.

She is drawn to nature as her inspiration. She enjoys painting botanical illustrations such as flowers, trees, and fruits. Her mother has a beautiful garden full of flowers and fruits. Many of her paintings are inspired by the memories of this garden.

For purchasing inquiries, please contact Rohini at rohini0815@gmail.com or 701-203-3735.

The gallery, which is located on the second floor of Grand Forks Public, is a place for local artists to exhibit their creative passions. Learn more.
