Grand Forks Public will host a traveling exhibition designed to teach kids and their families about money, thanks to a competitive national grant from the American Library Association (ALA) and the FINRA Investor Education Foundation. Thinking Money for Kids is a new multimedia experience for children ages 7 to 11, as well as their parents, caregivers, and educators. The interactive exhibit uses games, activities and a fun storyline to help children understand what money is, its function in society, money choices, and money values, such as fairness, responsibility, and charitableness. The exhibit will be on display at Grand Forks Public, along with a series of related special events, from May 23 to June 30, 2022.
Experience the magic of storytime at Grand Forks Public! Storytimes include picture books, puppet shows, music, and activities geared for different age groups. Each storytime lasts about 25 minutes.
Tween Tuesdays will meet weekly throughout June and July. Join us for a craft or a game. Prepackaged snacks will be provided. Recommended for ages 9-12.
The Great Reads Book Club has something for everyone - from suspenseful tales to knee-slapping humor. Plus, no tests! The club is here to simply bring together people who have the same love of books, to have a fun discussion about various books and to simply enjoy each others company. Even if you hate the book or couldn’t finish it, that’s okay— let’s talk about why! The book club meets the third (3) Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Please contact us at accessinfo@gflibrary.com if you are interested in joining.
Update: Due to weather, we will be canceling this event. Sorry for the inconvenience.
