Grand Forks Public will host a traveling exhibition designed to teach kids and their families about money, thanks to a competitive national grant from the American Library Association (ALA) and the FINRA Investor Education Foundation. Thinking Money for Kids is a new multimedia experience for children ages 7 to 11, as well as their parents, caregivers, and educators. The interactive exhibit uses games, activities and a fun storyline to help children understand what money is, its function in society, money choices, and money values, such as fairness, responsibility, and charitableness. The exhibit will be on display at Grand Forks Public, along with a series of related special events, from May 23 to June 30, 2022.
Join us for a Kickoff Party as we celebrate the start of the 2022 Summer Reading Program, Oceans of Possibilities! Pick up your goodie bag, including whale, shark, or sailboat LEGO kits. We will have a variety of activities for the whole family. Special guests on the library’s front lawn include: Muddy Waters Clay Center, North Dakota Museum of Art, Artwise, Dakota Science Center, Safe Kids Grand Forks, Mental Health Matters, NDSU Extension Service, Grand Forks Police Department, Grand Forks Fire Department, Little Red Reading Bus, and other community partners. Inside the library will be a Thinking Money for Kids exhibit, Giant Jenga, puzzles, and video games.
