Welcome to Story Studio—your free, soundproof space for creativity at Grand Forks Public_. Whether you’re recording a family history interview, starting a podcast, sharing a personal story, or testing out your musical chops, this cozy booth is designed to help you create with confidence (and quiet).
Features:
- Peaceful Productivity: The cube blocks up to 30dB of outside noise, so distractions stay out and your focus stays sharp.
- Comfortable Seating: Cozy and conversation-ready, with space for up to four people.
- Tech Ready: Outfitted with power outlets, high-speed Wi-Fi, USB ports, and a mic—everything you need to record. Just bring a thumb drive to save your audio and take it with you to upload to a free podcast platform like Spotify for Podcasters, Podbean, or Buzzsprout.
- Walk-In Friendly: If it’s not reserved, it’s yours on a first-come, first-served basis.
Usage Guidelines:
- Booth Reservations: Feel free to reserve the booth for up to two hours. Reserve the booth by calling (701-772-8116), emailing (accessinfo@gflibrary.com), or stopping by the front desk. The booth can be reserved up to one week in advance.
- Ending Reservations: Reservations wrap up 15 minutes before closing time.
- Punctuality Matters: If you're more than 15 minutes late, your reservation may be released to someone else.
- Age-Friendly Zone: Our booth is perfect for ages 14 and up.
- Seating for 4: The booth comfortably fits up to four people—perfect for small group recordings.
- Tidy Up, Please: We kindly ask all Story Studio users to leave the cube spick and span. Future storytellers thank you!
