Homebound Library Services

Materials by Mail

The Homebound Library Service helps Grand Forks Public Library cardholders who are unable to visit the library in person continue to enjoy library materials from home. Through this service, printed materials—such as books—are mailed directly to you.

What is a Homebound Patron?

A homebound patron is physically unable to come into the library due to illness, injury, disability, or limited mobility, either short-term or long-term.

How It Works

Printed materials are mailed to you and may be kept for up to six weeks. To ensure this service remains accessible and manageable for all participants, up to five items may be checked out at a time through Homebound Services.

This program is designed for patrons who are unable to visit the library in person, so materials checked out through Homebound Services are the only items that may be borrowed during that loan period.

Materials may be returned by mail or dropped off at the library on your behalf. Patrons are responsible for materials that are lost or returned in damaged condition.
